What is Band?
Band is an elective class, not an after-school activity, in which you learn how to read music and how to play an instrument of your choice.
Purpose
The purpose of the DuBois Integrity Academy Band program is to enrich the lives of our DIA scholars through musical growth and performance opportunities.
Vision
Through music education, The DIA Band Program will empower and assist students in developing confidence, creativity, discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills.
About Our Band Director
Mr. Paige comes to DIA with 10 plus years in the music education and music performance field. For the past 4 years he has taught general music classes to students in Kindergarten - 5th grade in the Douglas County System. In those 4 years Mr. Paige was able to create a culture of excitement for music performance that had not been there before. Prior to his employment, students had lost interest in music education and students also had no confidence in music performance. Through intentional lesson planning, by catering to the interest of students, he was able to bring a new passion for music education and music performance to his students.
Mr. Paige plans to bring that same level of energy here at DIA! He wants to personally see his DIA Band Program students go on in life with a wealth of music knowledge that will not only positively impact them musically, but will also develop their confidence, creativity, discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills.
