
DIA Attendance
Dubois Integrity Academy prides itself on providing quality education to its scholars per the State Compulsory Act (GA Code § 20-2-690.1). A KEY part of any student's education. This page provides clarity on DIA's attendance policies and procedures. Please read thoroughly before sending any notes.
Understanding Attendance
Present
Student is in class for four or more hours of the instructional day.

Absent
Scholar is not present at any point during the class period or instructional day.​
*All excuses of any kind must be submitted within 3 days of the scholars' return and are subject to review. Any excuse received after the mentioned window are not guaranteed approval.*

Extended Absence / Special Request
Any absence lasting three (3) or more days. This type of absence always requires additional action - an excuse or supporting documentation.

Tardy
Scholar has arrived after classroom instruction has started

Parent Excuse Note
A note that can excuse up to 2 days per scholar. Each family is allotted 5 PENs, per student, to excuse things such as a tardy,

Doctor's Note
Any documentation from a medical office including patient's name, when they were seen and when they can return to work/school. If applicable please include continued medical plans

Excuse Notes should have:

Scholar(s)' Name.

Scholar(s)' Grade.

Date(s) to be excused.

Name of the organization - or- parent or guardian requesting the absence be excused.

The date the scholar is to return -or- How many days they will be absent.
